COVID-19 Update from 21C Skills Lab

Kia ora koutou, In light of the recent developments with the COVID-19 (Coronavirus) pandemic, 21C Skills Lab wants to provide you with a clear update on the steps we are taking in relation to our programmes and with our Business and Education Partners. We know that you will also be working through challenges in your own schools and businesses - and we are ready and able to support you. There have been 20 confirmed cases in New Zealand and COVID-19 is now a global pandemic. We continue to follow and be informed by advice from the Ministry of Health and we acknowledge that many of our Schools and Business Partners now have strict protocols in place to reduce the impact of the COVID-19 outbreak on staff, students, customers and wider communities.

Like a Boss Programme (L.A.B)

With the newly announced self-isolation requirements and potential school closures that may occur, our team is working on digital solutions to enable students to complete the L.A.B programme online. We are seeking collective input to understand student needs both at school and in the school holidays - and we invite our L.A.B schools along with whānau to contribute feedback and ideas here. We are aiming to have an online platform for students to access resources and webinars live as soon as possible and will keep you updated with progress. If you have any questions or concerns relating to COVID-19 and the L.A.B Programme, please get in touch with Natania Katene, L.A.B Programme Lead: [email protected]

Exceptional 21C Teacher's Edternships Programme (Edternships) Due to the unprecedented circumstances with the COVID-19 pandemic, 21C Skills Lab have had to make the decision to defer the Edternships Programme to Term Three, 2020. We understand that the decision to postpone the programme will cause disappointment and disrupt plans that have been put in place, but we must put the safety of all those involved at the forefront. As the situation evolves we will be reviewing our approach and will keep you informed as we plans to recommence the Edternships Programme at the end of July 2020 with our Business Partners and Schools.

We are determined to see this through together and want to thank our Schools, Business Partners and wider community for the incredible support.

As always, we warmly welcome your feedback and ideas for effectively navigating the coming time together - 21C Skills Lab is here to assist in anyway we can so please reach out. Our thoughts are with all schools, businesses, communities and whānau throughout Aotearoa and the world as we navigate through this uncertain time. Ki runga, ki mua. Ngā mihi mahana Faye and Justine
