21C Skills Lab appoints L.A.B Programme Lead

Official Media Release:

A new role at 21C Skills Lab paves the way for continued growth in helping young New Zealanders build the skills they need to thrive in the new era of work.

Newly appointed L.A.B Programme Lead Natania Katene has stepped into the influential role at 21C Skills Lab to build on the progress the organisation has made to date with the Like a Boss (L.A.B) programme set to run in over 80 schools across New Zealand in 2020.

21C Skills Lab Co-Founder Faye Langdon says the organisation is excited to welcome Natania onboard to grow the L.A.B Programme designed to help students create their own social businesses and develop 21st Century skills.

“Natania has an outstanding professional background leading and developing programmes across the education, health and social sectors.”

Natania is passionate about rangatahi and has developed some significant programmes for Māori to enhance opportunities and wellbeing.

Natania’s most recent role was as Māori Outreach Coordinator at Young Enterprise Trust.

Formerly, Natania spent three years as Executive Officer at Te Wānanga o Aotearoa.

The L.A.B Programme piloted in Term 1 this year and has since rolled out to 45 schools and organisations nationwide with a vision for all students to have the skills to succeed in a rapidly changing world of work.

21C Skills Lab is a space for designing, developing, testing and rolling out solutions to the biggest issues around how the education sector can transform to better meet the needs of young people and employers.

Natania is looking forward to continuing on 21C Skills Lab’s mission working in partnership with schools, whānau and communities.
